Employee Spotlight: Joe V

Meet Joe V, our Bristol Yard Foreman since July 2007, boasting an impressive career of over 17 years. Joe is our seasoned expert, proficient in operating everything from our Travel Lift to cranes and hydraulic trailers; he can do it all!

You know Joe V is in the yard when he has the guys on the move, getting boats launched, hauled, on stands, or moved to our inland facility on Franklin St. He is frequently caught playing his Portuguese music throughout the yard and sometimes singing along too!

Rooted in his heritage and originally from St. Michael, Portugal, Joe V, the son of a Portuguese baker, learned the value of hard work from a young age. Starting work as soon as he could walk, he has also developed into a skilled carpenter, known for his ability to build anything.

Outside of Bristol Marine, Joe’s world revolves around his family, and especially his grandson Owen with whom he shares an unbreakable bond. Everything he is passionate about involves them; woodworking, exploring new local restaurants and annual trips instead of gifts, because he values the joy of shared experiences.

In Joe V, we find not only a dedicated employee but a multifaceted individual whose skills, passions, and devotion to family enrich both our workplace and beyond.
