Brooks Busey
General Manager
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Brooks grew up on the Ortega River and built his career around the working waterfront. After graduating from Stetson University with a business degree, he trained under marina owner Bronson Lamb and went on to manage and later own Sadler Point Marina. His decades of hands-on experience in marina operations and service made him a strong fit to lead Huckins Yacht Service into its next chapter.
Outside the yard, Brooks and his wife, Jennie, spend their time on their 34-acre hobby farm where they raise cattle and a lively group of dogs, including five trained squirrel-hunting feists. He is also an avid woodworker who builds cedar-strip canoes, paddleboards, and hand-carved spoons.
For Brooks, joining Bristol Marine and Huckins feels like a return to his roots. He grew up around the yard and has known the Purcell family for years, which fuels his commitment to honoring its history while driving it forward. “This place has so much promise,” Brooks says. “It is rewarding to be part of something that values craftsmanship, history, and people.”

Huckins Yachts has a storied history dating back to 1928, when founder Frank Pembroke Huckins introduced the innovative Quadraconic® hull, one of the first true planing hull designs. His vision for craftsmanship and performance — along with Huckins’ significant contributions in World War II, including building PT boats for the U.S. Navy — set a benchmark for a company that continues to produce one-of-a-kind yachts blending timeless elegance with advanced technology.
